This course is designed to introduce and educate the students about the concept of innovation and technology and its role in education. Students will be taught the skills of producing electronic and non-electronic materials. Handling materials will help students on issues and innovation involved in the selection, adoption, use, evaluation and production of educational media. Emphasis will be on teaching aids, computer and information technology applications. In addition, students are exposed to current issues and innovations in education technology based e-learning and m-learning. This course is conducted both theoretical and practical training.

Learning Outcomes

  1. able to master the concepts and components of technology and innovation in education.

  1. able to master the use of various learning resources.

  1. able to identify appropriate methods and techniques for teaching through learning resources.

  1. able to identify areas that could be research in the field of technology and innovation in education.

The reason why I chose the above video is that how this person innovates the way of teaching English. 

He uses YouTube to teach English. 
He teach new words and shows how to pronounce them correctly. This way of teaching will be suitable for 21st century students since they were born with everything of this.
They just need to use these technologies to study and learning. This is actually an innovation of teaching and learning methods. There is not only physical meeting in teaching and learning, there is also virtual learning.

Well, it is good since they make use of technologies to aids in teaching learning. That is the innovation in this course. English is no longer face-to-face learning. Student can watch this video until they get bored of it and of course until they masters the word. I read the description of this video, it says that he will upload this video daily which means the learning process is continuous and by the same person. This will eases the students to adapt and to learn better.

For BBM (Bahan Bantu Mengajar), I chose to play games with grammars elements and give them motivations to not giving up study.

Game         : CrossWord Puzzle.
Desciption : Best for Secondary School Students
                    - relating grammars exercises in games
                    - using concept "Learning is Fun"

The grammers parts that I am focussing is on verb, past tense, idiom and proverb, adjective, opposite adjective, preposition, conjunction and grammar punctuation.

Why? The reasons : a- Grammars are the biggest weaknesses of Malays students
                                 b- Grammars is important
                                 c- Fun learning aids in learning process a lot
                                 d- To gain students' attentions and interests
                                 e- Efficient and effective

Methods : 1- Plan the exercises. (can search it online)
                 2- Print it out and laminate. (can be used again)
                 3- Cut into a smaller pieces. (easy to handle)
                 4- Use it after you have taught the syllabus.

The residue of the materials, I decided to make BookMarks with motivationals quotes on it.

Why? The reasons : 1- To motivate them to keep on learning.
                                 2- To grow students' interest of learning English 
                                 3- To ensure they are motivated
                                 4- To inspire the students
                                 5- To allow learning while enjoying the moment

Methods : a- Collects the residue of the materials.
                 b- Cut them into favourable sizes as below.
                 c- Use marker pen, write motivational quotes.
                 d- Choose the simple one, Do not have to be so long.
